Berlin, 04. November 2008 - Update of O&O Defrag 11 available – now fully integrated into O&O Enterprise Management Console 2

The Berlin-based German company, O&O Software, has just released an update of its multiple prize-winning defragmentation program, O&O Defrag. O&O Defrag 11, itself just recently released, made its debut with flying colors on account of a wide range of new and improved features: automatic protection from heavy defragmentation (background defragmentation) was one. Targeted defragmentation by right-clicking hard disks and partitions as well as individual folders or files was another. And then there was the file status display which provides information about the number of the most heavily affected files and their level of fragmentation. Speed and memory consumption were again optimized in the update, resulting in O&O Defrag now performing even faster than ever while demanding considerably less memory requirement.

In addition to the O&O Defrag Professional and Server Edition, the new Workstation Edition has entered the market. O&O Defrag Workstation Edition is a network-capable version for clients and can be installed with or without a user interface. The Workstation and Server Editions of O&O Defrag can now be installed and managed using the network management of O&O Enterprise Management Console 2. O&O Enterprise Management Console 2 is, in fact, based on the Microsoft SQL Server and can be fully integrated into existing Microsoft SQL database structures. It can also be integrated into the Microsoft SQL Server Express, which is included in delivery. The network management features of the Console are therefore fully applicable for smaller networks. O&O Enterprise Management Console 2 is currently able to manage O&O Defrag as well as the data imaging solution, O&O DiskImage, but the integration of other O&O products is already in development.

O&O Defrag is now available in the Professional, Workstation and Server Editions. The full version of the Professional Edition is priced at 49, 90* Euro (USD 49.95/ GBP 29,99) , the update at 29,90 Euro ( USD 29,95 / GBP 19,99) . The full-version Server Edition is available for the price of 249, 00 Euro net (USD 249.00 / GBP 179.00) while an update will cost 149, 00 Euro net (USD 149.00/ GBP109.00). Starting from 5 licenses, the Workstation Edition is available through Dealers for a 35, 00 Euro net ( USD 42.00 / GBP 21.00 net) price per license. Upgrading to a volume license of the Workstation Edition is possible from a volume license of any previous O&O Defrag Professional version.

Eligible for an upgrade are owners of any previous O&O Defrag version or a competing product. The update is free for all owners of an O&O Defrag 11 Professional or Server Edition.
